Cranswick is a leading UK food producer with revenue of over £2 Billion. We produce and supply premium food to high profile UK grocery retailers, the food service sector and other UK and global customers.
We are currently recruiting for a Human Resource Apprentice to work at our Riverside site. The successful candidate will become an integral part of the site's HR Team, providing administrative support and ensuring all relevant documentation is saved on the relevant systems, whilst maintaining accurate records and confidentiality at all time.
Duties and Areas of Learning:
- Manage the onboarding process and associated administrative tasks
- Input the daily absence and medical notes on to People XD
- Process leavers and associated documents in line with GDPR requirements
- Dealing with forgotten password queries for People XD
- Updating People XD with contract amendments and changes to workgroups and drafting contracts to reflect the changes
- Attend the Daily KPI meeting
- Running employee length of service reports and associated administration tasks
- Collecting the monthly GEM award nominations and associated administration tasks
- Checking absences weekly and highlighting workers requiring an absence review meeting
- Maintaining employee personnel files on the HR SharePoint
- Compile reports on a weekly basis to demonstrate and track progress of tasks completed during that working week
- Data input, photocopying, scanning and filing HR and training documents
- Update Screencloud with monthly presentations on the canteen TV screen
- Support with employee engagement activities across the site
- Uphold good housekeeping practices
- Maintain knowledge of relevant legislation, internal company policies and procedures and codes of practice
- Carry out activities with full awareness of their impact on the environment, in terms of people and the local area
- Ensure that you understand and adhere to your personal responsibilities with regard the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, Environmental Protection Act 1990, Site Environmental Permit, Control of Substances Hazard to Health (COSHH) regulations, company HSE policies and site safety rules at all times
- To identify hazards in the workplace
- Carry out activities with awareness of their impact on the environment, both in terms of people and the local area
- Understand and minimise energy and waste within the department
- Respect and honour the sentiment of the Cranswick ethical policies and codes of conduct, when interacting with your colleagues at all times
What We Look For:
- Strong IT skills - Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
- Experience working in a busy office function (preferable)
- Willing to learn new things and take feedback on board
- Commitment to complete full apprenticeship
- Timekeeping and punctuality - must have transport (support) in place to get to site
- GCSE Level 4 English and Maths (preferable but not essential)
