Room Attendant
The Abbey Sands Hotel, Torquay
We are seeking a dedicated Room Attendant to join our Housekeeping team, reporting to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
Main Purpose of the Role:
The primary responsibility of a Room Attendant is to ensure all guest rooms, whether occupied or departing, are cleaned to an exceptionally high standard. You will also carry out duties as instructed by the Head Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Service a designated section of rooms, as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor.
- Maintain a consistently high level of cleanliness in all bedrooms.
- Place all dirty linen in designated areas.
- Ensure corridors adjacent to your assigned rooms are thoroughly cleaned.
- Remove all room service trays from corridors and place them in service cupboards.
- Handle lost property by taking items found in bedrooms to the Housekeeping Supervisors office at the earliest opportunity, recording details such as where the item was found, date, time, and your name in the lost property book.
- Practice energy conservation by turning down radiators and switching off lights in rooms.
- Ensure all rooms are securely locked after servicing.
- Report "do not disturb" rooms or any unserviced rooms promptly.
- Check and empty corridor bins as needed.
- Keep all service areas clean and tidy.
- Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of all equipment, including buckets, trolleys, and vacuum cleaners.
- Return any room service trays, crockery, or glassware not belonging in rooms to the service cupboards.
- Restock your trolley with sundries before the end of your shift.

Job Type: Permanent
Pay: £10.00-£12.21 per hour
