Overview
We are seeking a professional and friendly Hotel Reception Supervisor to join our team at the Abbotsford Hotel. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our guests, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. This role is crucial in maintaining the smooth operation of our front desk and enhancing the overall guest experience. A background in hospitality or hotel environments is preferred, as well as previous supervisory experience.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the reception team, including performance management of team members and rota setting for the reception team
- Greet and welcome guests as they arrive, ensuring a positive first impression
- Answer phone calls with excellent phone etiquette, directing inquiries to the appropriate departments.
- Manage bookings and reservations efficiently, providing information about services and amenities.
- Handle guest check-ins and check-outs smoothly, ensuring all procedures are followed accurately.
- Assist with guest services, addressing any questions or concerns promptly and professionally.
- Maintain an organised reception area, ensuring it is tidy and presentable at all times.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and service delivery.
- Perform administrative tasks as required, including filing, data entry, and managing correspondence.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a receptionist or front desk role within a hotel or hospitality setting is preferred, as is previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role
- Exceptional phone etiquette and communication skills are essential for effective guest interaction.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- A friendly and approachable demeanour, with a passion for delivering outstanding guest services.
- Proficiency in using office equipment and computer software relevant to the role.
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed, including weekends or holidays if required. The position is based on 40-hours per week, to be worked within the opening hours of the reception operation, which is 8am to 10pm Monday-Sunday. As the leader of the reception team, it is expected that a variety of days/times to be worked may be required in a given week, and may vary from week to week.
