Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for providing high-quality care to seniors and individuals with varying needs. As a Caregiver, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for those you assist, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being in both home and care settings.
Duties
- Provide personal care assistance to clients, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Administer medication as prescribed and ensure adherence to care plans.
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients.
- Support clients with mobility and physical activities, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Maintain accurate records of patient care and report any changes in condition to the healthcare team.
- Assist with behaviour management and case management as required.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a trusting relationship.
- Drive clients to appointments or social activities as needed.
Skills
- First aid certification is preferred.
- Experience in nursing homes or care homes is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, and hospice care practices is beneficial.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and patient care protocols is essential.
- Previous experience in home care or assisted living environments is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective interaction with clients and families.
- Ability to develop and implement care plans tailored to individual needs.
