Good Oaks Home Care is looking for a Home Assistant to work in our Wimbledon location.
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Care Assistant to provide exceptional care and support to individuals in their own homes. As a Home Care Assistant, you will play a critical role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, helping them maintain their independence and dignity while receiving the necessary assistance they require. Your responsibilities will include providing personal care, assisting with daily living activities, and fostering a safe and comfortable environment for our clients.
Responsibilities:
Personal Care: Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, while promoting their privacy and dignity.
Mobility Assistance: Help clients move around their homes safely and provide support with walking, transfers, and exercises as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
Medication Support: Remind and assist clients with taking medications according to prescribed schedules, adhering to safety protocols.
Meal Preparation: Prepare nutritious and balanced meals based on clients' dietary needs and preferences, ensuring they receive adequate nutrition.
Companionship: Engage in friendly conversation and meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
Light Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and tidy environment for clients, including light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, dishwashing, and organizing.
Appointment Assistance: Assist clients in scheduling and attending medical appointments, therapy sessions, and other relevant engagements.
Observations and Reporting: Monitor clients' health conditions, behaviors, and any changes in their well-being, promptly reporting any concerns to the appropriate individuals.
Safety Measures: Identify and address potential safety hazards in the client's home, ensuring a secure and risk-free environment.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided, noting any significant events or developments in the client's condition.
Support for Family Members: Collaborate with the families and caregivers, offering support and information to help them understand the care plan and contribute to the client's well-being.

What do we require?
- Clear DBS check
- Two references
- Valid right to work in the UK
- Alternate weekend working
Previous experience in healthcare is desirable such as domiciliary care, residential care, or support work however this is not essential as we will provide full training.
