Information about the role
We have a rare opportunity for a Holmes Reader/Receiver.
In this exciting role, you will support major terrorist and domestic extremism investigations for Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTPSE).
Using the HOLMES Computer system, you will ensure that all lines of enquiry have been pursued to a satisfactory conclusion.
You will identify information that is to be indexed, cross-referenced or highlighted relating to a particular line of enquiry or other piece of information. You will update the Senior Investigating Officer (SIO)/Deputy SIO as appropriate ensuring that they are fully conversant with all the necessary details regarding the investigation.
With proven investigative background/experience of major crime investigations, you will have completed – or be willing to complete – a HOLMES Reader/Receiver course and a Holmes System Admin course. You will have relevant knowledge of evidence handling and disclosure processes. As a confident and competent user of IT, you will be able to analyse large amounts of information and establish priorities amongst competing demands.
You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home. For this reason a full UK Driving Licence is essential to the role. You will also be required to perform on-call arrangements for immediate response as required across the South East region.
Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary to pass and maintain vetting level DV, together with a number of enhanced security checks. In order to achieve this, you must be a British National and have resided in the UK for the past ten years. Exemptions may apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and studying abroad. Please be aware that if successful there are limitations on travelling to a small number of countries once in post.
