Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and customer-oriented Counter Assistant to join our team. As a Counter Assistant, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and assisting with various tasks at the counter. This role is ideal for individuals with a background in community pharmacy and patient care. We require cover for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday full days, but will consider full time employment for the right candidate. Flexible start and finish times might be available to the right candidate. Occasional Saturday morning cover might be required to cover other staff holidays but this is few and far between. The position is ideal for anyone thinking about returning to work who previously had a pharmacy job. Full statutory training in store over 12 months will be provided to anyone not already qualified.
Responsibilities:
- Greet customers and provide friendly and efficient service at the counter
- Assist customers with inquiries, product recommendations, and purchases
- Process transactions accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale system
- Maintain a clean and organized counter area
- Stock shelves and ensure products are properly displayed
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving and restocking merchandise
- Collaborate with the pharmacy team to ensure timely prescription processing and medication administration
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a pharmacy assistant is highly preferred
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively
- Knowledge of medication administration and basic medical terminology
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills for accurate cash handling
- Ability to work well in a team as well as independently
