If you are new to care this is an exciting development opportunity combining a comprehensive and supportive Education pathway and attainment of a level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care.
Please note: This role is not eligible for sponsorship under the UK Home Office Skilled Worker visa route, due to the increased salary threshold introduce in early May 2025. Therefore, we are only able to consider applications from individuals who already have the right to work in the UK.
You will be working clinically to ensure the safety and quality of the care given to your designated patients within the emergency Department, under the supervision of a registered nurse/practitioner, whilst supporting and working with colleagues during the shift.

Working under guidance and in conjunction with the senior nursing team and the departmental Matron
Following the Department’s and Trust’s Policies and Protocols to ensure the safety of the department
Liaising with the wider MDT to maintain safety

To participate in discussions and projects that will benefit the team, the patients and the department as a whole
The nursing team in the Emergency department consists of both Adult and Paediatric qualified nurses and works alongside Advanced Nurse Practitioner and Advanced Paramedic Practitioners who manage the Minor Injuries service within the department. Supported by very capable and knowledgeable Assistant Practitioners and Healthcare Assistants.
The medical team and nursing team work together to ensure the safety of patients and staff within the department and to ensure the delivery of high-quality care to those who require our services.
The nursing team has an excellent resource that are the Practice Educators which are based within the department and offer a multitude of learning experiences tailored to the needs of the Emergency Department. Led by an experienced Emergency Nurse, the team not only facilitates in-house training for the clinical skills required by nurses within the Emergency Department but is also very responsive to the developmental and educational needs of all the staff on an individual basis and are an invaluable asset to the team.

Eligibility Requirements:
If you’re an experienced candidate, you’ll need to have an NVQ Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care.
For those who are new to the care, we ask for a minimum of 4/ Grade C/pass in GCSE Maths and English or both functional skills level 2, and you will be required to undertake a supportive development pathway to attain a level 3 health and social care qualification.
Key dates:
If your application is successful, you will be invited to an interview during the week beginning 11th August 2025. Should you be offered the position after your interview with the Emergency Department, your employment is expected to commence in October 2025, including a minimum two-week induction period. We are happy to discuss flexible arrangements to accommodate half-term commitments within the month of October.
