Chairo Christian School is a non-denominational Christian school with 1,900 Kinder to Year 12 students attending five picturesque campuses in West and South Gippsland, the Latrobe Valley and the south-eastern outskirts of Melbourne.

We are currently seeking to appoint a Primary Teacher / Head of Teaching & Learning (Primary) to commence at our Pakenham campus in January 2026. A teaching load will apply in addition to Head of Teaching & Learning responsibilities (initial three-year Position of Responsibility appointment).
The Head of Teaching & Learning (Primary) is an important position of responsibility within the school’s management structure, assisting the Principal (Pakenham) by ensuring the delivery of high-quality Christ-centred education for students in Prep to Year 6.
As a respected teacher, the Head of Teaching & Learning (Primary) will provide educational leadership and act as a mentor to staff members while fostering an environment for their continued development. They will lead by setting a godly example to staff members and students in their teaching practice, relationships and lifestyle.
Having obtained relevant tertiary qualifications in education and being registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching, the successful candidate will also possess the following important characteristics:
- An active Christian lifestyle and demonstrated agreement with Chairo’s Statement of Faith
- Experience in an educational leadership position or substantial experience as a respected teacher
- Sound knowledge of current educational practices and teaching from a Christian worldview perspective
- Ability to build strong partnering relationships and communication channels with all members of the campus community
- Post-graduate qualifications (desirable)
