Role Summary:
We are looking for a Head of Maintenance Standards to join our team at CHC Helicopter!

The Head of Maintenance Standards provides strategic leadership in defining, implementing, and governing maintenance standards that ensure global compliance, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. Through active collaboration and oversight, the role drives alignment and adoption of best practices across regions and business units, setting clear expectations for efficiency, safety, and reliability. By establishing the training strategy and competency framework for all maintenance staff, the role ensures a highly skilled workforce capable of meeting evolving operational demands. With a focus on standardisation, innovation, and the integration of modern technologies, the Head of Maintenance Standards reduces risk, enhances productivity, and maximises aircraft availability, delivering sustained value and cost efficiency across the organisation.

This leadership position will directly influence operational reliability, workforce competency, and overall organisational performance by embedding a culture of excellence, consistency, and innovation in maintenance practices.

This is a global role and can be based in any of our regions.
Key Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of the Head of Maintenance Standards are:
  • Create and maintain a company maintenance standards policy and procedures manual
  • Implement maintenance standards consistently across the organisation and verify their adoption through oversight, surveillance, and on-site engagement
  • Define and set the maintenance training policy and standards, ensuring effective training programmes, competency assurance, and continuous professional development for all maintenance staff
  • Establish and manage control metrics and KPIs to monitor compliance, adherence, and performance against maintenance standards
  • Lead the maintenance organisation in achieving operational excellence, maximising aircraft availability and utilisation while minimising downtime
  • Champion standardisation, integration of modern technologies, and continuous improvement to deliver efficiency gains and cost savings
  • Lead and support a high-performing team of professionals, fostering a culture of engagement, collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability
  • Exemplify and promote the Company Core Values: Accountability, Collaboration, Care, Integrity, and Excellence
Qualifications, Skills & Attributes:
The ideal candidate will have the following:
  • Proven experience in the performance of maintenance
  • Experience as a nominated person demonstrating regulatory compliance
  • Demonstratable experience in implementing standards throughout a maintenance organisation
  • A passion for effective maintenance training
  • Lead and support a team of professionals, fostering a culture of engagement, collaboration, continuous improvement, and high performance
  • Be able to manage effective metrics and KPIs to demonstrate compliance and drive continuous improvement
  • Deliver standards that ensure operational excellence
  • Lead and collaborate at all levels within the organisation
  • Be inquisitive, respectful and open to input and feedback
  • Make decisions in the best interest of the company
  • Build and manage strong relationships with staff, peers and management throughout the company
  • Inspire and motive team members and the organisation is delivering excellence
