Are you a passionate baker with a flair for creativity and a passion for crafting high-quality products? We’re a vibrant, fast-growing bakery business specialising in bespoke cakes, pastries and sweet treats and we’re looking for a talented Head Baker to lead our production kitchen team.
We’ve recently expanded into a brand-new, spacious kitchen in Swanfield, Leith only 10 minutes from our flagship shop on Leith Walk. With this exciting move, we’re ready to take things to the next level and we’re looking for the right person to help bring a new project to life.
What We’re Looking For
This is a hands-on leadership role perfect for someone with solid baking experience, creative ideas and the ability to manage a small, dynamic team.
As Head Baker, you’ll take charge of day-to-day production from planning prep and bake schedules to maintaining consistency and quality across all products. You’ll also play a key role in menu development and have the freedom to contribute your ideas and creativity.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has professional experience in baking and production with a strong understanding of both sweet and savoury items such as artisan breads, savoury bakes, cakes and pastries
- Thrives in a busy kitchen and can manage multiple bakes and projects at once
- Brings leadership skills and can support, mentor and motivate junior bakers
- Is organised, efficient and confident in running a smooth kitchen operation
- Has a keen eye for detail and takes pride in presentation and consistency
- Understands and upholds food hygiene and safety standards
- Is a strong communicator and works well as part of a team
- Is reliable and available on weekends – this is a key part of the role
