Alderford’s Nightmare Island is an immersive, outdoor Halloween scare attraction, designed to terrify and thrill our guests. We are seeking energetic, creative, and fearless performers to join our team as Scare Actors. You will bring our horror-themed characters to life, interacting with guests in both scripted and improvised scenes, creating an unforgettable and chilling experience.
This is a seasonal role, perfect for those who enjoy acting, physical performance, and working in a fast-paced, themed environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform in Character: Portray a variety of assigned horror-themed roles (e.g., clowns, creepy dolls, butchers, haunted spirits) with high energy and commitment.
- Engage Guests: Deliver both scripted scares and improvised interactions while remaining fully in character.
- Use Props & Costumes: Handle themed props, wear special effects make-up, masks, or prosthetics as required.
- Create Atmosphere: Maintain the mood, tension, and immersive quality of the attraction throughout your shift.
- Work Safely: Be aware of guest boundaries, maintain safe distances, and follow health & safety protocols.
- Collaborate with the Team: Work closely with fellow actors, event crew, and management to deliver a seamless experience.
- Adapt to Conditions: Perform outdoors in varying weather conditions, in dimly lit and themed environments.
Skills & Experience
- Previous acting, performance, or immersive theatre experience is desirable but not essential.
- Strong improvisation skills and the ability to think on your feet.
- Confidence in interacting with the public, including in close proximity.
- Physically fit and able to work on your feet for extended periods.
- Comfortable wearing costumes, masks, and theatrical make-up.
- Punctual, reliable, and professional at all times.
