We are an established Groundwork and Civil Engineering contractor based in Melbourn, near Royston, Hertfordshire, turning over circa £15m per annum with nationwide house builders on projects throughout East Anglia. Projects include the construction of estate roads & sewers together with plot groundworks from foundations through to slabbing and external works.
We are seeking an experienced Estimator, with a proven history in the industry, an in-depth knowledge of the required processes to build, an ability to analyse tender documents, drawings & specifications, prepare detailed bills of quantities and full cost estimates, including identifying risks and possible alternative construction methods, support tender submissions and present to the client with any potential cost saving alternatives. Other duties will include supporting the production team with ongoing projects & technical support with information hosting systems.
In addition to this the candidate will require strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, excellent communication and negotiation skills, the ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines. A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering would be preferred along with experience in the use of EasyEarthworks or similar digital volumetric systems is essential.
