Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Front of House Assistant to join our team. This role is vital in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our guests and ensuring that their experience is enjoyable from the moment they arrive. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a friendly disposition, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome guests upon arrival, ensuring they feel valued and attended to.
- Manage reservations and seating arrangements efficiently, coordinating with the kitchen and waiting staff.
- Provide information about menu items, specials, and events to enhance the guest experience.
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism and a positive attitude.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the front of house area, including waiting areas and reception desks.
- Assist in managing cash handling processes, including taking payments accurately.
- Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth operations throughout service times.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role is preferred but not essential.
- Excellent verbal communication skills with a friendly and approachable manner.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and customer satisfaction.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations is an advantage but can be provided through training.
