We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in our warehouse operations, ensuring the efficient movement of materials and products. Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts to load and unload goods from lorries and storage areas.
- Perform shipping and receiving tasks, ensuring accurate documentation of all incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Handle materials with care, adhering to safety protocols while performing heavy lifting as required.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment, reporting any necessary repairs or maintenance needs.
- Maintain an organised warehouse environment, ensuring that products are stored correctly and efficiently.
- Utilise basic maths skills for inventory management and stocktaking purposes.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations within the warehouse.
Requirements
- Proven experience in forklift operation, with valid certification preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to equipment repair and maintenance.
- Familiarity with materials handling processes and warehouse management systems.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and efficiently.
- Excellent attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all shipping and receiving activities.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
- A proactive approach to safety, recognising potential hazards in the workplace.
