Job Summary
As a Finance & Payroll Assistant, you’ll work closely with the Finance Team to ensure our financial records are accurate, up to date, and compliant. You’ll be responsible for a wide range of duties including accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, and general finance administration.
Responsibilities
- Manage Accounts Payable – Set up suppliers, process invoices, and oversee timely payments.
- Invoice Processing – Load and approve invoices using Xero and Dext.
- Expense & Credit Card Administration – Validate and reconcile internal expenses and company card transactions.
- Accounts Receivable Oversight – Raise invoices, monitor debts, and support collections.
- Payroll Coordination – Collate timesheets, update employee data, and liaise with payroll providers.
- Payroll Record Maintenance – Keep accurate payroll records and handle related queries.
- VAT & Statistical Returns – Assist with quarterly VAT submissions and Office for National Statistics returns.
- Internal Controls Monitoring – Document and review financial procedures and controls.
- General Finance Support – Handle ad hoc finance and administrative tasks as needed.
Essential Qualifications
- GCSE Maths and English pass grade 5-9 (A to C)
Desirable Qualifications
- AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting
Skills and Experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis purposes
- Knowledge/experience of Xero accounting software
- Excellent data entry skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Experience of payroll processing
- Knowledge of software such as Dext (financial document processing software) and Pleo (company spend management software)
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £26,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
