Our 14-acre site includes woodland and open grassed areas, so it’s fair to say muddy boots are a regular feature! Keeping the site clean and well maintained is essential, and that’s where you come in. Your main responsibility will be daily cleaning across key areas, including toilet blocks and classrooms, with the rest of your time spent supporting general site maintenance. Depending on your skills, this might include repairing fences, restocking activity equipment, wood staining picnic benches, trimming back brambles or completing routine checks like lighting and water temperatures – full training will be given.
If you also have hospitality experience, we’d love to hear about it. From setting up teas and coffees to preparing packed lunches or helping with campfire cooking sessions, there are occasional opportunities to support catering for events and away days.
Carey is a unique and rewarding place to work. In this hands-on role, your contribution will help make sure every visitor enjoys a safe, well-kept and welcoming experience.
This is a part time position at 18.5 hours per week. There is some flexibility regarding the working pattern so long as the needs of the centre are met. We anticipate that the candidate will work approximately 3.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday.
For an informal discussion about the role, or to request a site visit, please email, Paul Burrows, Strategic Lead - Outdoor Education at [email protected]
