The Role: We are seeking a diligent and reliable Warehouse Operative to join our busy and growing team. This is a vital role within our operations, ensuring the smooth flow of goods in and out of our warehouse and supporting our commitment to timely and accurate customer deliveries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Storage & Organisation: Safely and efficiently store goods in designated locations, ensuring optimal use of warehouse space and maintaining a tidy and organised environment.
- Order Picking & Packing: Accurately pick and prepare customer orders according to specifications, ensuring correct quantities and product types. Pack goods securely for dispatch.
- Loading & Dispatch: Assist with the loading of outgoing vehicles (HGVs, vans), ensuring loads are secure and correspond with dispatch documentation.
- Stock Control: Participate in regular stock takes and contribute to maintaining accurate inventory records. Report any discrepancies or damaged stock.
- Health & Safety: Adhere strictly to all company health, safety, and hygiene policies and procedures, including manual handling guidelines, forklift safety (if applicable), and dust control.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate warehouse equipment such as pallet trucks and counterbalance forklifts.
- Housekeeping: Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation within the warehouse at all times.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively as part of the warehouse team and collaborate with other departments (e.g., Production, Logistics) to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Previous experience working in a warehouse or logistics environment is essential.
- Experience with goods in/out, picking, packing, and stock control.
- Valid Forklift Licence (Counterbalance is highly desirable)
- Basic understanding of health & safety regulations in a warehouse setting.
- Experience in a food manufacturing or similar environment is beneficial but not essential.
