Why we're hiring:

Technology powers everything we do at WPP, and WPP IT is dedicated to empowering our teams to collaborate, create, and thrive. We're in the midst of an exciting transformation – modernizing our operations, embracing cloud and micro-service architectures, driving automation, digitizing experiences for colleagues and clients alike, and unlocking insights from WPP's vast data.

As we continue this journey, we're seeking an ERP Finance Data Migration Lead to join the EMEA and NA delivery team for our global Maconomy ERP rollout.

The Maconomy Core Programme has a proven track record, running for over eight years and successfully implementing its core template solution in 20 countries for approximately 25,000 users.

In this role, you'll be a key member of the Maconomy Data Migration Team. You'll bring your expert Maconomy/ERP and finance and accounting knowledge to lead all aspects of migrating data from legacy systems to our centralized global ERP solution.

We're looking for someone with extensive experience in ERP implementation projects, particularly in data migration. You'll be crucial in ensuring the seamless and accurate transfer of financial data and its associated master data. This position requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of finance processes, and proficiency in data migration tools and methodologies

What you'll be doing:

  • Be the go-to Maconomy/ERP finance data migration SME, providing expert guidance on ERP systems and data migration.
  • Collaborate across functional teams to deeply understand data usage and its implications for a successful migration.
  • Drive all data migration activities from start to finish—including legacy data analysis, mapping, ETL development, cleansing, validation, and transfer ensuring they meet global template standards, are of the highest quality, and are delivered on schedule.
  • Empower WPP Shared Service Centre (SSC) Master Data Management Teams and Operating Companies' Data Leads by clearly articulating the Maconomy data model, migration strategy, and upload templates, covering data definitions, relationships, constraints, and cleansing needs.
  • Oversee data cleansing efforts, ensuring all quality targets are met.
  • Lead the planning and execution of migration dress rehearsals, develop the data migration cutover plan, and provide essential post-go-live support for any data issues.
  • Work hand-in-hand with the partner/SI Technical Data Team Lead to select the most effective and efficient tools for data migration, keeping future needs in mind.
  • Maintain and regularly update critical documentation: the Data Dictionary, Mapping Document, and Code Translation Document.
  • Produce and refine all necessary technical, data, and design documentation.

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field. An advanced degree or professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CA) is preferred, whether qualified or part-qualified.
  • Significant experience in ERP system implementation projects (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics), ideally with Maconomy. This experience should be in roles such as ERP Functional Consultant, ERP Finance Lead, ERP Implementation Lead, or similar, demonstrating a strong understanding of ERP data models and migration strategies.
  • Profound understanding of finance processes, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, financial reporting, and budgeting.
  • Proficiency in data migration tools and technologies (e.g., SAP Data Services, Informatica, or similar ETL tools), coupled with hands-on experience in data cleansing, validation, and transformation techniques.
  • Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL queries.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and diverse stakeholders.
  • Adept at translating complex technical issues for business audiences and business challenges for technical teams, simplifying intricate concepts for broader understanding.
  • Demonstrated leadership and self-direction, with a passion for solution building and a proactive, hands-on approach.
  • Proven experience operating in complex, multi-business, multi-language, and multi-geographic environments, ideally within the professional services or advertising industry.
  • Ability to operate effectively as both a strategic thinker and a hands-on manager.
