About the Role
The Paralegal is an integral part of Latham’s Legal Professional and Paralegal team and will work to support the Infrastructure Finance practice. This role will be responsible for performing legal tasks and providing various administrative support to attorneys and other supervising paralegals, where relevant. Those responsibilities include, but are not limited to, supporting the attorneys, and coordinating work for transactions with the assistance of support departments, attorney support team members, and junior paralegals. This role will be located in our London office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Other key responsibilities include:
- Preparing specified forms, letters, or other legal documents, and obtaining documents and certificates from relevant agencies and authorities
- Conducting searches and creating reports in databases, agencies, or other document repositories
- Proofreading and preparing documents for transactions, and submission to courts, agencies, or authorities
- Maintaining the integrity of the transactional documents generated throughout the duration of a transaction
- Working closely with the attorneys to coordinate closing and signing processes for transactions
We’d love to hear from you if you:
- Possess excellent organizational skills, enabling efficient management of tasks, prioritization of responsibilities, and maintenance of a structured workflow in a fast-paced legal environment
- Demonstrate the ability to accurately interpret, understand, and navigate legal concepts and procedures as they relate to practice areas (Finance or Corporate, preferably)
- Display strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a team environment with a customer-service focus
And have:
- A Law undergraduate degree (or non-law undergraduate degree plus GDL) and LPC, preferably
- Relevant experience as a Paralegal in a transactional practice (Finance, Corporate, preferably)
