Description
We are currently seeking an Energy Performance Officer, who will support the Sustainability Manager in the management of BSU’s energy consumption and carbon reduction programme, including the requirements of our ISO50001 Energy Management System, maintenance and continued development of BSU’s utility metering system, design and implementation of energy efficiency and carbon-reduction measures, energy monitoring and targeting data reporting.
About the Role
This role includes maintaining ISO50001 EnMS compliance, designing metering strategies for future developments, and overseeing utility consumption monitoring and forecasting. You will work closely with contractors and internal stakeholders to optimise energy performance, develop weather-corrected analysis, and respond to excess-consumption alerts.
Key responsibilities also include detailed modelling of energy use, carbon emissions, and costs, supporting energy conservation initiatives, and providing regular utility and carbon reporting. This is a dynamic role with the opportunity to support strategic sustainability projects and contribute to meaningful environmental impact.
About You
- Educated to Relevant Degree-level qualification or equivalent
- Recent Experience in a similar role
- Hold an M&T qualification or demonstrable CPD
- Previous BEMS analysis experience and CPD
- Knowledge of ISO management systems
- Energy management system experience
- Experience of implementing M&T strategies
- Membership of IEMA or similar professional body

Additional Information
Salary: Grade 6 , starting from £33,482 rising to £37,174 per annum
The salary range shows the potential maximum pay progression in addition to any annual inflationary increase to your pay. Please note that our default position is to appoint into the lower end of the range, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
