Our Team:
We have an exciting opportunity for x6 Education Support Practitioners to join our Virtual School and Early Help Team
Our Team work closely with partners, young people and their families to create, implement and review support plans which meet their assessed needs. Acting as Educational Support Professionals, where appropriate, colleagues determine what additional needs families may have and prevent these needs from escalating wherever possible. .
The post will be based in our Family Hubs in Runcorn and Widnes.
Please be aware that the successful applicants will be required to travel between sites and local schools.
Hours: 37 per week Monday – Friday. Please be aware that successful applicants may be required to attended meetings outside standard working hours

About the Role
As an Education Support Practitioner, you will work closely with schools, families, and partner agencies to identify and address barriers to learning and wellbeing. Your role will be to provide timely, targeted support that helps children and young people stay engaged in education and achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Work directly with children, young people, and families to assess needs and develop support plans.
- Provide one-to-one and group interventions to address issues such as attendance, behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and family challenges.
- Liaise with schools, social care, health services, and other partners to coordinate support.
- Monitor progress and review outcomes to ensure effective support is in place.
- Promote safeguarding and ensure all work is in line with child protection policies.
Your Contributions:

We are looking for someone who has:
- Experience working with children, young people, and families in an educational or community setting.
- Strong understanding of early help, safeguarding, and multi-agency working.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- It is essential that you have an NVQ L2 or above, or relevant experience of working with children, young people and families, as well as a minimum of 3 GCSE or equivalent at grade C or above. This must include maths and English or you must be able to demonstrate the appropriate level of skills or experience. or you must be able to demonstrate the appropriate level of skills or experience.
As this role involves regular travel across the borough and sometimes further afield, a driving license and access to a vehicle are essential requirements. Where appropriate, reasonable adjustments will be made in accordance with the provisions of the Equality Act.
