We Love Pets Wokingham/Winnersh is an established and reputable pet care company that is dedicated to providing top-quality services to furry friends in Wokingham/Winnersh and the surrounding areas. We are currently seeking a reliable dog walker/pet visitor to join our passionate team of pet enthusiasts for Wednesdays only.
Responsibilities:
- Provide regular and dependable dog walking services/drop in visits for our clients' beloved canine and feline companions.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of dogs under your care at all times.
- Follow detailed instructions provided by pet owners regarding walking routes, behaviour, and any specific requirements.
- Engage and interact with dogs to provide mental stimulation and exercise during walks.
- Maintain a professional and friendly demeanour when communicating with clients and fellow team members.
- Report any health or behavioural concerns observed during walks to the appropriate staff members.
- Manage multiple dogs and maintain control and order during group walks.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year of professional dog walking experience preferred but not essential. Full training will be provided.
- Living/residing no more than 5 miles from RG40/RG41 area's is ideal
- Genuine love and understanding of dogs, with a keen interest in their well-being.
- Physical fitness and the ability to walk for extended periods, regardless of weather conditions.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and fellow team members. Use of a smart phone is also essential.
- Reliable and punctual, with a strong sense of responsibility and commitment.
- Access to a reliable mode of transportation to reach various walking locations. 2-3 dogs will be in your car, so adequate space in the boot and back seats are needed. Again car aids will be provided.
- Basic knowledge of dog behaviour, health and first aid is desirable but training will be provided.
- Availability needed for Wednesdays definitely, but also other week days and weekends. Walk times are usually 9.30am through to 4pm. This role requires a lot of flexibility.
- Applicants who are willing to stay long term (at least a year). This unfortunately is not a role for students looking for work around term times.
The interview stages:
- Expected for you to be available for at least three shadow walks (experience dependant).
- DBS Police check is required before any interviewing will commence.
- Online 'Novabright' training courses to be completed before taking out any animals.
