About Us

Day Opportunities Officers (Physical Disabilities)

Grade 4- £30,630 - £32,931 Per annum

As a valued member of our dedicated team, you will play a key role in delivering personalised, meaningful activities for adults with physical disabilities and learning disabilities.

The Day Centre is based at ‘Yew Tree Day Centre’ in Romford with good transport links. Working role can be moved Ad-Hoc to other areas in Havering.

Your work will be guided by individual support plans, with the overarching aim of enhancing each person’s:

  • Health and wellbeing
  • Employability and life skills
  • Social inclusion and community engagement
  • Independence and confidence

You will also provide respectful and dignified support with personal care, tailored to each individual’s needs.

About the Job

  • Reporting to: Day Centre Manager / Senior Officer
  • Working hours: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Flexibility is required to support occasional activities outside of standard hours.
  • Teamwork: While this role does not include formal line management, you will collaborate closely with volunteers and colleagues across various settings, offering guidance and support to help achieve positive outcomes for the people we support.
  • Resources: You may be responsible for managing specific resources or budgets related to individual activities or projects.

About You

This role is varied and rewarding. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited

to:

  • Planning and delivering engaging, person-centred activities that reflect the interests and goals of individuals
  • Supporting individuals with personal care in a way that promotes dignity, choice, and independence
  • Encouraging participation in community life and helping individuals build meaningful relationships
  • Promoting skill development and confidence through tailored learning opportunities
  • Working collaboratively with families, carers, and professionals to ensure consistent and holistic support
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of the service by sharing ideas and feedback

Maintaining accurate records and ensuring all activities are delivered in line with safeguarding and health & safety standards
