Old Hall Farm and Farm Shop is an award winning agroecological farm in South Norfolk - we have a fabulous herd of Jersey cows and produce amazing pasture fed dairy products within metres of where the cows are milked. We have won multiple Great Taste awards and are striving to make the best quality dairy products possible which include cream, butter, ice cream, ghee and fudge - we would also like to make cheese.
Due to expansion, we are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dairy Processor to join the team in our on farm Dairy Processing unit. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that food products are processed efficiently and safely, adhering to all relevant food safety standards. This role requires good attention to detail, a high standard of cleanliness and the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor food processing equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Follow established food safety protocols, including HACCP guidelines, to maintain product quality and safety.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and work areas to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Assist in the preparation and processing of food products according to specified recipes and standards.
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, including quantities produced and any issues encountered during processing.
- Collaborate with team members to identify areas for improvement in production efficiency and product quality.
- Participate in training sessions on food safety practices and equipment operation as required.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food production or a similar role is preferred but not essential.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards, including HACCP principles.
- Proficient in basic maths for accurate measurement and record-keeping.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in all tasks performed.
