Job Title: Costs & Purchase Ledger Support - Elderly Care

Salary: £28,000-£32.000 [plus 10% SMART objectives based bonus paid quarterly]

Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours) - Option of less hours subject to minimum of 32

A little about the Cost & Purchase Ledger Role:

This role is fundamental to achieving Jasmine's mission and objectives by reviewing all invoices and costs incurred, ensuring that all supplier invoices comply with agreed terms and prices, identifying ways of reducing usage and prices of all products and services. This role is responsible for the expenditure side of all bank reconciliations and ensuring that all suppliers get paid in a timely manner.

Day to Day Responsibilities the Cost & Purchase Ledger Role:

Overall responsibility for reviewing suppliers' costs, carrying out costs analysis, negotiating better prices and implementing new suppliers accordingly

Overall responsibility for everything related to the purchase ledger

Ensuring all accounts processing is followed (i.e. processing of business expenses, petty cash, reconciling / journalling everything related to the accounts process; check trial balances, profit & loss on the MAs)


Essential Requirements the Cost & Purchase Ledger Role:

  • Good computer literacy (particularly email, excel spreadsheets and word documents)
  • Sound knowledge of the purchase ledger side of Xero
  • A clear understanding in relation to posting journals
  • Ability to determine the accruals and prepayments necessary each month
  • Ability to follow processes


Preferred Requirements the Cost & Purchase Ledger Role:

  • Experience of working with Xero
  • Understanding and experience of posting accruals & prepayments
  • Understanding the fixed asset register
  • Negotiating with new and existing suppliers
  • Either already studying for AAT or prepared to start studying for it immediately
