Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a passion for delivering high-quality meals in a fast-paced environment. As the Lead Cook, you will oversee kitchen operations, ensuring that all food safety standards are met while mentoring junior staff and contributing to menu development.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily kitchen activities, including food preparation and cooking.
- Ensure that all meals are prepared according to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff in culinary techniques, food safety practices, and efficient meal preparation.
- Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during busy periods.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, ensuring all equipment is properly cleaned and stored.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant setting.
- Strong culinary skills with a focus on food preparation, cooking techniques, and meal presentation.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide team members.
- Previous experience in a supervisory role is advantageous but not essential.
- A passion for cooking and creating exceptional dining experiences.
Pay: £12.21-£15.00 per hour
