Hours of work: Full-time, 35 hours per week, 5 days from 7, Monday to Sunday on a rotational basis. Willing to provide occasional out of hours cover.

About our Organisation
Four Square Scotland is an Edinburgh charity working for more than 40 years to prevent homelessness and promote inclusion. We provide services directly to people who are homeless, or who are at risk of homelessness to overcome any barriers they may face in creating a stable life for themselves in their community. About the role
Situated in Saughton Park, we are a community café, based in the heart of the community with a welcoming, cozy atmosphere and delicious, reasonably priced food. The café is open 9.30am – 4pm daily, with slightly extended opening in the summer months.
We are looking for a Cook who is responsible for preparing and cooking food to order from our menu, ensuring high-quality meals are served in a timely and presentable manner.
KEY JOB TASKS
- Preparing and cooking all food to order.
- Work with the café manager to meet manage sooth running of the kitchen.
- Closely monitor the health and safety of the kitchen environment and ensure full compliance.
- Ensure a consistently high standard of service is presented to our customers.
- Working as part of the wider team.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
- Experience of working in a busy kitchen environment.
- Level 2 food hygiene certificate or willing to achieve before taking up post.
- A good level of kitchen experience and food knowledge
- Thorough understanding of allergens
- Knowledgeable in maintaining and monitoring Health and Safety in a similar environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to deal with employees at all levels, as well as external contacts.
- Must be willing to help with dishes and cleaning of the kitchen.
- Remains calm under pressure and maintain kitchen practices.
- Effective time management
