We are seeking a proactive and experienced Site Supervisor to oversee the delivery of planned maintenance and refurbishment works across a diverse portfolio of local authority and social housing properties. The successful candidate will ensure that all works are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while maintaining excellent relationships with clients, residents, and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Management & Supervision
- Coordinate and supervise daily site activities across multiple properties
- Ensure planned works are delivered in accordance with project specifications, timelines, and budgets
- Monitor progress and resolve any issues that may impact delivery
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with health & safety regulations
- Stakeholder Communication
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, residents, and subcontractors
- Provide regular updates to the Contracts Manager and client representatives
- Address resident concerns professionally and promptly, ensuring minimal disruption
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure all works comply with relevant legislation, building regulations, and company standards
- Maintain accurate site records including daily logs, risk assessments, and method statements
- Conduct quality checks and snagging inspections to ensure high standards are met
- Resource & Subcontractor Coordination
- Manage site labour and subcontractor teams effectively
- Ensure materials and equipment are available and delivered on time
- Liaise with suppliers and logistics teams to avoid delays
- Health, Safety & Environmental
- Promote a culture of safety and ensure all operatives follow safe working practices
- Carry out toolbox talks, site inductions, and enforce PPE usage
- Report and investigate incidents or near misses in line with company procedures
Requirements
- Proven experience supervising planned works in social housing or public sector environments
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, building regulations, and H&S legislation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple sites and teams simultaneously
- SMSTS or SSSTS certification
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable Skills
- Experience working with local authority frameworks or housing associations
- Familiarity with digital site management tools and reporting systems
- First Aid certification
- Asbestos Awareness training
