Community Partnerships Co Ordinator

South London And Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust
£46,419 - £55,046 a year
City of London, England
Full time
At South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM), we believe in providing excellent care which is delivered with pride and compassion. Everything we do is to improve the lives of the people and communities we serve and to promote mental health and wellbeing for all.

This role will be based in Southwark Community Teams, supporting the Community Care Development and Neighbourhood alignment which covers community Teams , VCS and acute and urgent care.

The Community Care Development and Neighbourhood alignment supports SLaM’s ambitious journey to ensure its services deliver outstanding mental health care, responding to the needs of the communities it serves – across all settings. NHS England set out a clear direction on enabling inpatient quality transformation across a range of inpatient services, recognising that this needs to be done in parallel to high quality, responsive models of care in the community. The NHS Long Term Plan has a strong focus on expanding and improving the quality of community care for people with mental health problems, with the aim of ensuring more people can access community mental health services than ever before. In addition to this, the NHS England planning guidance has reiterated expectations around crisis care and use of out of area placements. SLaM is working with its partners to undertake major work on both its 24/7 crisis and acute offer, and its model of care in the community, in line with Trust strategy.

By coming to work at our Trust, you will gain experience of being part of an organisation with a rich history and international reputation in mental health care. You will have access to professional development and learning opportunities and have the chance to work alongside people who are world leaders in their field. The Trust delivered more than 14,000 training experiences in 2014; providing an extensive range of learning opportunities for staff at all levels. In addition, our working relationship with King's Health Partners allows those working at the Trust to get involved in academic research.
