We are seeking a CNC Operator/ Metal Fabricator to join our team to be involved with the production of panels and GRP skins used in constructing and converting panel vans into Temperature Controlled Vehicles.
The duties include but are not limited to the following as a CNC Operator / Metal Fabricator:
- Operation & set-up of CNC machine on a daily basis
- Loading and unloading of materials
- Produce drawings / templates using the V Carve software when required
- Ensure materials are checked for size, thickness and grade, prior to cutting and inform the Manager of any quality concerns.
- Be responsible for quality of materials that have been cut on the machine.
- Deliver materials and assemblies to fabrication department as assist them when required.
- Work with a variety of metals such as stainless steel, aluminium, measuring, cutting, fitting and forming
- Working on bespoke metal projects when required
- Ensure that materials are to correct specification to meet customer/vehicle requirements.
- Quality checking and fault identification
- Carry out any general tasks when asked by your Manager
- Deliver high standard of work and ensure deadlines are met
Skills and experience
- Knowledge of using V Carve software preferred but not essential
- Must have a keen eye for detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently without supervision and as part of a team to achieve productivity goals.
- All machine and personal safety procedures to be followed at all times
- Correct use of PPE
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to communicate well
- Ability to meet time schedules and deadlines.
- Ability to learn new skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Have basic use of hand tools, measuring devices, and power tools.
- Must have a good eye/hand coordination.
- Physical fit to load and unload the bed of the machine including, standing, carrying, lifting, pushing, and pulling and have overall good physical strength
- Willing to learn different skills in other areas of the business
- Responsible for keeping a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Hours of work
- 8am – 5pm Monday – Friday
- Weekend work and overtime available

- From £12.50 based on experience
