Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Cleaning Operative to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across our premises. This role involves cleaning large open spaces, office areas, and kitchen/canteen facilities, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and pleasant environment for all staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily cleaning duties across designated areas, including large open-plan spaces, office areas, meeting rooms, and corridors.
- Clean and sanitise kitchen and canteen facilities, including work surfaces, sinks, appliances, tables, and chairs.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors as required, including large floor spaces using appropriate equipment.
- Empty waste bins and recycling containers, replacing liners as needed.
- Clean and disinfect toilets, washrooms, and shower areas where applicable.
- Dust and wipe down surfaces, furniture, fixtures, and fittings.
- Operate cleaning machinery and equipment safely and efficiently (e.g., floor scrubbers, buffers, vacuum cleaners).
- Replenish consumables such as soap, paper towels, and toilet tissue.
- Report any maintenance or repair issues promptly to the supervisor.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines, including the safe use of cleaning chemicals in accordance with COSHH regulations.
- Maintain cleaning cupboards and storage areas in a clean, tidy, and organised manner.
Requirements:
- Previous cleaning experience in large spaces, offices, or catering/kitchen environments preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good attention to detail and pride in delivering high standards.
- Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
- Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
- Understanding of health and safety procedures (training will be provided).

Monday to Friday (occasional flexibility may be required).
