To assist Community VISION in developing and delivering the Volunteen Projects and other appropriate services for Children and Young People. Effectively carry out partnership working with a range of agencies, services, education providers and communities, locally, regionally and nationally, to provide the co-ordination and development of a wide range of quality, co-ordinated and accredited youth volunteering and social action activities including youth voice and influence opportunities, for young people living in East Riding and North Lincolnshire. The post holder will work strategically to develop collaborative and sustainable approaches through the development of diversified income streams to increase the youth volunteering offer and thereby increase potential volunteers within the area.
Main Responsibilities:
- Work strategically with young people, members of the East Riding Youth Council, Youth Voice steering group and wider services/boards within East Riding of Yorkshire Council and North Lincolnshire Council, as well as education providers, the National Youth Agency and UK Youth Parliament, Yorkshire and Humber Youth Work Unit to promote, develop and deliver collaborative youth volunteering, youth voice and influence opportunities within the East Riding and North Lincolnshire.
- Liaise with other youth volunteering and youth voice and influence schemes locally, nationally and internationally to increase the positive benefit for young people including vulnerable groups of young people and improving their future outcomes and transition to adulthood.
- Increase partnerships with private, public and voluntary sector providers to develop and promote more pathways for young people in relation to education and employment opportunities.
- Facilitate the Youth Volunteering Strategy Group and coordinate the associated action plan.
- Identify and apply for potential sources of income to develop aspects of youth volunteering and social action, including voice and influence work
- Manage the Volunteen team and provide appropriate leadership, support including direct work with children and young people and supervision as required by each Volunteen staff member.
- Prepare monitoring and evaluation reports for funders and partners.
- Any other tasks commensurate with the responsibility of the post holder.
GENERAL JOB TASKS
- Work collaboratively and provide a support mechanism for the Community VISION staff working with young people
- To manage time and workload effectively.
- To ensure that members of the Community VISION team are kept adequately informed of your work and that information is provided as requested by your line manager.
- To participate in planning and team building activities within Community VISION and to contribute to the core operation and development of the organisation.
- To take part in supervision meetings as agreed in line with Community VISION’s policy.
- To undertake in-service training as appropriate.
- To respect confidentiality of all information acquired through working at Community VISION within the framework of the confidentiality policy.
- To work in a self-servicing capacity.
· To keep professionally informed on developments in training and appropriate voluntary sector issues and undertake appropriate training.
· To adhere to the policies and procedures of the Charity.
· To undertake such other duties as are commensurate to the nature of this work and level of responsibility after consultation and agreement with the Board of Trustees.
