Job Summary
We are looking for a number of Casual Residential support workers to join our team, at our new children’s home in Westhoughton, Bolton. The successful candidates will be supported by an experienced senior and management team.
The home is for up to four children, aged 5 to 17 years old with a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder, this may be in addition to further diagnosis and needs.
There will be three teams in the home, with four residential support workers on each shift, supported by a team leader.
The team leaders will have a shift pattern of 1 in 2 off, and the support workers on shift will change over the week, so that all staff are working together, across the three teams.
Overnight, there will be two sleep in staff and two waking night staff.
Casual staff will have the opportunity to cover shifts for times where permanent staff are on leave, they may cover sickness or if there is a staff vacancy. Casual staff will have the option to pick up day/ evening shifts and/ or waking nights.
Casual staff will also be required to attend mandatory training.
We are looking for staff with the passion to contribute to achieving the best possible outcomes, for the children that we care for. We want the successful candidates to have a hands-on attitude within the home and be supportive of each other.
Hourly rate of £14 and £60 per sleep.
Overview of Duties and Responsibilities
- Report any unsafe practices.
- Promote the safeguarding and wellbeing of the children within our care.
- Support the children to have access to a wide range of activities within the local area and further, in line with their interests and hobbies.
- Make strong and positive relationships with the children, this supports safeguarding within our home.
- Be an effective decision maker when faced with difficult and unexpected situations.
-Complete delegated tasks from senior staff within agreed timescales and be organised within the home.
- Complete daily paperwork to a high standard.
- Undertake required training that will support you to fulfil your role and support the needs of the children.
- To understand your own role and responsibilities when looking after the children and ask for further support where required.
- Follow company policies and procedures & again ask for further support where required.
- Supporting the children with their personal care needs will be part of the role.
Requirements
- Previous experience of working within a care setting supporting children and/ or adults is preferred but not essential.
- Full UK Driving Licence preferred but not essential.
Pay: £14.00 per hour
