Join a supportive and values-driven team at the heart of Adult Social Care in Dorset. You’ll play a vital role in helping people discharge from hospital and avoid admission from the community, while developing your skills in contract management, negotiation and problem solving.

What you will be doing
As part of the Care Allocation Team you'll allocate pre-commissioned services consisting of care at home and residential placements to support the flow across the wider Health & Social Care system in Dorset. You'll manage flow through these services to ensure there is always resources for people to be allocated.
Your work will involve:
- Working as part of an MDT
- managing and allocating block-contracted care hours and placements
- updating systems and spreadsheets accurately and consistently
- working closely with operational teams, providers, commissioners and families
- identifying creative solutions to maximise the available capacity to meet the demand
- escalating risks and maintaining accurate records of unmet needs and care deficits
- You’ll also help support digital developments in the process, advise colleagues on the market, and contribute to contract performance monitoring and management.
About you
- You’ll be solution-focused, resilient and collaborative, with an understanding of adult social care. You’ll bring experience relevant to brokering care and feel confident working across professional boundaries. You’ll also need to be:
- confident in negotiating and handling complex provider discussions
- organised, methodical and accurate in managing contracts and care data
- a strong communicator, both written and verbal
- comfortable working with digital systems and case management tools
- able to build relationships and navigate the wider health and care landscape
- a comfortable multi-tasker able to work under pressure with frequently changing prioritise
- able to manage your own workload with excellent time management skills
- agile in your approach to change
