Job Summary

Job Title: Brighton College International Academic Administrator

Reporting to: The Deputy CEOs

Main Purpose of the Role: We are looking for a responsible person with excellent data processing, research and organisational skills, to join our friendly and dedicated team. The right candidate will assist with a range of tasks, including the organisation of group-wide stakeholder surveys, online meetings, production of Brighton College International materials and school visits. Confidence and experience with spreadsheet management in Microsoft Excel is an integral part of this role.

Brighton College International comprises a diverse team of highly talented colleagues, with expertise in education, marketing, admissions, finance, architecture and design. The Academic Administrator would report to the Deputy CEO (New Schools) and Deputy CEO (Established Schools). They would work particularly closely with the educationalists in the team, but would be expected to support with a number of other areas, giving them invaluable experience of business development, design and marketing as well. Due to the nature of new business opportunities, the person appointed to this role must have a strong understanding of the importance of maintaining confidentiality. Brighton College International is based in their own suite of offices, a short walk from the main College campus. This role may require other tasks as required.

General Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee annual stakeholder surveys for Brighton College International schools, liaising with third party organisations and senior leaders across the school network as required.
  • Manage the annual Brighton College Academic Competitions programme, including: updating all literature on an annual basis; communicating all relevant information and deadlines to staff in the international schools; co-ordinating with BCI/BCUK staff for the marking, judging and assessment of entries; tracking progress; arranging prizes; and promoting the success of the programme.
  • Support the Deputy CEOs with the organisation of online Committee Meetings, including the setting of agendas, collation of papers and recording of minutes.
  • Oversee the collation of academic data on a termly / annual basis as required.
  • Support the Deputy CEOs with the organisation of visits to the College.
  • Support with the production, editing and standardising of Brighton College International material; this may include policies, handbooks, curriculum documents and educational guides.
  • Assist with the collation of educational material required to support Quality Assurance school reviews.
  • Manage the BCI team calendar, to ensure any key events, dates and meetings are in for the team’s information.
  • Offer general administrative and organisational support to the team, including supporting

with: the booking of BCI events; the booking of UK travel; taking minutes; and managing office supplies and stocks of marketing literature.

  • Support with the main College Open Mornings (four Saturday mornings a year).
  • Any other reasonable management request.
Person Specification:
  • A Bachelor's degree or Vocational qualification in a relevant field.
  • A genuine interest in working within a school setting.
  • Excellent data processing and Excel skills, with an eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong writing, research and proof-reading skills.
  • Confidence with using AI and innovations in technology.
  • Knowledge and experience of using Microsoft Office.
  • Creative thinker with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
  • Clear understanding of the importance of confidentiality.
  • Previous experience of working in an educational setting may be advantageous, but is not essential.

Hours of Work:
Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm with a 60 minute unpaid lunch break (37.5 hours per week). This appointment will work term-time plus five weeks (40 weeks total).
Four Saturday’s per year for Open Mornings. (*Time in Lieu will be given)

Remuneration:
The salary for this role will be between £24,500 and £25,500 (Dependant on experience).

Holidays:
Holiday entitlement is included in the salary for this role. All holiday is to be taken outside of the working weeks.
