Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Blacksmith to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in various welding techniques, including TIG and stick welding. This role requires proficiency in the use of hand tools, power tools, and fabrication methods to create high-quality metal products. The Blacksmith will be responsible for both the assembly and finishing of metal components, ensuring precision and quality in every piece produced.
Responsibilities
- Operate welding equipment, including MIG and stick welding machines, to join metal parts effectively.
- Utilise hand tools and power tools for cutting, shaping, and finishing metal components.
- Fabricate metal structures and products according to specifications and drawings.
- Work with sheet metal to create various items, ensuring adherence to safety standards.
- Assemble components accurately, applying basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace while adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in welding (TIG and stick) is essential.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment is required.
- Basic maths skills for accurate measurements and calculations are necessary.
- Experience in assembly processes is advantageous.
- A keen eye for detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
