Summary
We are seeking a passionate Basketball Coach to join our team at Starpic Project in Edinburgh. In this pivotal role, you will inspire and develop young athletes through engaging basketball training sessions, contributing to our mission of making sports accessible for all.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement engaging basketball training programs for young participants.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages teamwork and sportsmanship.
- Assess individual skill levels and provide constructive feedback to enhance player development.
- Collaborate with schools and community organizations to promote basketball activities.
- Organize and lead basketball events, tournaments, or workshops.
- Maintain a safe training environment by adhering to health and safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and stakeholders regarding participant progress.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in sports coaching, particularly in basketball.
- Strong teaching skills with the ability to engage young athletes effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for youth development and community engagement.
- Relevant coaching certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
PVG SCHEME:
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check upon a formal offer being made by Starpic Project.
