Job Title: Bar Person
Location: St Neots Rugby Union Football Club, New Street, St Neots, PE19 1RU
Contract Type: Zero Hours (Flexible/As Required)
Reports to: Bar Manager/General Manager
Job Purpose
To provide a friendly and efficient bar service to members, visiting teams and guests at St Neots RUFC, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere and high standards of customer service during matches, events, regular club operations and private functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to customers efficiently and in line with licensing laws.
- Operate tills and handle cash/card payments accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene behind the bar and in customer areas.
- Set up and close down the bar, including stock checks and replenishment.
- Comply with health and safety standards and food hygiene regulations.
- Support event functions such as match days, private functions, and club socials.
- Promote a safe and respectful environment for all club patrons.
- Follow instructions from the Bar Manager and General Manager, and respond flexibly to the club's needs.

- Good availability, especially over weekends/evenings.
Desirable:
- Previous bar or hospitality experience, but training will be provided.
- Basic knowledge of licensing laws and responsible alcohol service.
Working Hours
This is a zero-hours contract role. Shifts will vary depending on club fixtures, events, and seasonal requirements. Flexibility is essential, particularly at weekends and evenings.
Rate of Pay
- £12.21 (aged 21 and over) - with 10% uplift £13.43
- £10 (aged 18 to 20) - with 10% uplift £11
- £7.55 (aged under 18) - with 10% uplift £8.30
After 20:00, your hourly rate will be increased by 50p per hour. There is also the opportunity for an additional £1 extra per hour if you are the team lead for that shift (more information at interview). This could increase your hourly rate to £14.93 after 20:00 (aged 21 and over, as example).
Pay: £8.30-£14.93 per hour
Expected hours: 1 – 15 per week
