Key Responsibilities:Customer Service & Front Desk
- Greet customers in person and over the phone in a professional manner.
- Book in vehicles for repairs, MOTs, and servicing.
- Discuss vehicle issues and required services with customers.
- Provide accurate cost estimates and explain work required.
- Update customers on job progress and inform them of any additional work needed.
- Handle customer queries, complaints, and feedback promptly.
Workshop Scheduling & Coordination
- Schedule jobs efficiently to maximise workshop productivity.
- Allocate work to mechanics/technicians and prepare daily job sheets.
- Monitor job progress and communicate delays or changes.
- Ensure all parts needed for each job are available and ordered in advance.
Administrative Duties
- Create and manage job cards, invoices, and service reports.
- Record customer details and vehicle history accurately on the system.
- Process payments and handle cash/card transactions.
- Keep records of warranties, service contracts, and manufacturer information.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety and data protection regulations.
Parts & Stock Management
- Order parts and liaise with suppliers for delivery schedules.
- Monitor stock levels and update inventory.
- Check parts received against orders and handle returns if needed.
Garage Operations Support
- Coordinate MOT schedules and reminder systems.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the front desk and waiting area.
- Prepare daily/weekly workshop reports for the manager.
- Support the manager in day-to-day tasks as required.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Basic understanding of vehicle repairs and mechanical terminology (training can be provided).
- Experience with garage management software (e.g. Garage Hive, AutoFluent, or similar) is a plus.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
- Previous admin or motor trade experience preferred.

Pay: From £12.55 per hour
