  • Supporting transition of the Working Group into the Centre for Health, Environment, and Climate Change (CHEC)
  • Developing evidence-based interventions for climate-sensitive health risks

Partnership:

  • Fostering global partnerships to enhance LSTM’s research impact and capacity
  • Building long-term partnerships with LMIC institutions
  • Collaborating with public health authorities to develop innovative sustainable health systems tailored to climate adaptation and mitigation in LMICs

Teaching and learning support:

  • Taking responsibility for the overall teaching and learning strategy within your academic field.
  • Ensuring quality standards of LSTM teaching programs in your academic field.
  • Leading innovative curriculum design and teaching methodology, while introducing students to cutting-edge research and its impact.

External representation and income generation:

  • Collaborating across departments to generate grant income/initiate opportunities for external funding, with a proven ability to attract significant high prestige funding and securing resources for early-career researchers.
  • Proactively and professionally representing the work of LSTM nationally and internationally.
  • Liaising at high level with external bodies and participating effectively in complex negotiations, including participation in knowledge exchange activities in line with the UK’s Knowledge Exchange Framework

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • PhD qualification or equivalent in a relevant subject area.
  • Extensive knowledge of subject area informed by substantial current research in the field.
  • Knowledge of strategic leadership principles and their effective application in a HEI setting.
  • Evidence of established international reputation in global health arena, related to Climate, environment, and Health.
  • Outstanding record of international level peer reviewed original publications and research, including in relation to low or middle-income countries.
