Responsibilities:
Locala Community Rehabilitation Service provides comprehensive care for adults in community settings. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Practitioner to join our team.
The post is based in the Orthopedic and Frailty Team based in south Kirklees. The team provide rehabilitation to patients with orthopedic conditions following elective joint surgery, fractured neck of femur, frailty and falls. Colleagues need to be flexible in terms of service needs and there is an expectation that you can travel Kirklees wide.
The service provides high quality care to patients in their own homes, community rehabilitation facilities and care homes.
This role requires a motivated and dynamic person to work within this established service and it is essential that you have experience in working as part of a multidisciplinary team. Experience of treating patients with complex disability, orthopedic conditions, falls and experience of working in a rehabilitation setting are also essential requirements of this post. Good communication skills and flexibility are essential qualities. A formal Assistant Practitioner qualification is desirable but willingness to work towards this is essential.
We would consider a development role for a Band 3 rehabilitation assistant to progress knowledge and skills whilst in post through completion of a competency framework. Suitable applicants need to have experience of working with patient with frailty and orthopedic conditions, have some community experience and have completed core rehab assistant competencies.
