Oxfordshire County Council is recruiting for an Assistant Money Management Officer (Benefits) to join our dedicated Money Management team. This is a vital role supporting service users and their representatives in navigating and managing state benefits, ensuring entitlements are maximised and appropriate.
About the Role
What You’ll Do
- Provide advice and guidance on benefit procedures to service users, their representatives, and Adult Social Care colleagues.
- Ensure benefit claims are made promptly and accurately.
- Liaise with external agencies including the Department for Work and Pensions, housing authorities, and care providers.
- Maintain accurate benefit records across multiple systems.
- Support the establishment of Appointeeships and Deputyship applications.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with vulnerable adults, including those with learning disabilities or mental health needs.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Numeracy and IT proficiency.
- A flexible, team-oriented approach.
You don’t need to be an expert in benefits or DWP procedures to apply. While knowledge in these areas is desirable, we’re primarily looking for the right skills and attributes to succeed in the role.
