Livingston Sheriff Court are looking for a full time Administrative Officer to join them on a full time permanent basis.
Administrative Officers carry out a variety of general administrative duties to progress cases through the court or provide support to other functions within the Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service.
The Key Responsibilities Include:
- Processing and distributing incoming mail to colleagues which comprises documents relating to both criminal and civil actions
- Creating and updating records on our in-house computer systems and data input
- Producing court documents
- Preparing files for court hearings
- General photocopying and filing
- Dealing with customers in person at the public counters, on the telephone and by e-mail.
- Dealing with numerical calculations
- Accounting for monies in accordance with financial guidelines
Additionally you:
- Will have regular contact with court users, including members of the Judiciary and the legal profession. As such you be required to competently answer queries giving consistent and reliable advice.
- Work within a team with regular management support and will be responsible for your own time.
- May be required to provide advice to colleagues and carry out limited supervision of others
- Assist with preparing statistical information and other returns to ensure standards of work meet the agreed level.
- Assist in clearing up of criminal and civil courts by preparing court minutes and carrying out any further administration duties following on from the court
- Process and enter fine payments onto computer system and reconcile at month end.
- Undertake such duties as may reasonably be requested within the scope of the post.
