Established in 1985, Mekatek Limited has developed to become one of the major Recycling and Waste Management organisations in Wales.
We are currently recruiting for a Weighbridge Operator/Administration Assistant.
The weighbridge Operator/Administration Assistants are usually the first and last point of contact with Drivers, Contractors, Suppliers and Visitors, and therefore customer service skills are very important.
The right candidate must also have excellent organisational skills with paperwork and associated tasks involved with this role. You must be flexible with a "can do" attitude with the work provided or asked of you. Numeracy skills are a MUST with good computer literacy.
Duties will include:
- Managing all vehicles entering and exiting the depot, weighing their load and recording data accurately.
- Recording and calculating inputs and outputs, producing weighbridge tickets.
- Liaising with customers, acting as first point of contact for a customer to resolve any issues/problems.
- Inputting Data onto Internal Stock System
- Producing Waste Collection / Delivery Notes / Drivers Sheets / Waste Transfer notes
- Scanning documents and emailing to customers
- Other general administrative duties as and when required
- Answering the telephone and emails
- Other duties as required
- Developing knowledge of materials, containers and the recycling industry in general.
The candidate is likely to have:
- experience operating a Weighbridge (but training will be provided for the right candidate)
- outstanding attention to accuracy and detail
- the ability to communicate effectively with various customers and staff
- the ability to prioritise workloads and work to deadlines
- flexibility to meet changing priorities, and remain calm under pressure
- Admin experience and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel is essential for this role
- GCSE in English C or higher
- GCSE in Maths B or higher
- Experience of Microsoft Dynamics NAV would be an advantage (but training will be given to the right candidate)
The hours of work are Monday to Friday 7.00 am to 3.30 pm. Holiday entitlement is 28 days per year including Bank holidays. The salary for this position is negotiable according to experience.
