It’s an incredibly exciting time for Bristol Airport, and we are looking for an Accounts Receivable Officer to join us on this exciting journey.
Reporting into our Contracts, Billing & Credit Controller, the Accounts Receivable Officer will be part of a team primarily responsible for the process of billing for our Customer and administrate the overall Sales Ledger to ensure that all billing for all parts of the business is captured accurately, invoices are paid in line with credit terms and any credit risk is dealt with effectively.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process Sales Ledger transactions, including but not limited to, bank postings, cash allocation and raising of invoices.
- Prepare relevant accounts reconciliations on a weekly/monthly basis for bank and other ledgers feeding into the overall Sales Ledger. Covering Aero and MT billing, as well as billed recharges.
- Administer the Sales Ledger to ensure all invoices are paid in line with the agreed credit terms, billing queries are kept to a minimum and are handled through to resolution in a timely and efficient manner.
- Support the Contracts & Billing Controller with verification of flight records and passenger data in the airport’s operational database, and preparation of aeronautical revenue invoices.
- Open and maintain customer accounts, ensuring that all standing data is accurate and up to date.
- Regularly report on the debtor position, with clear communication and escalation of any overdue debts.
- Prepare and process monthly direct debit collection files.
- Build effective working relationships and handle internal and external customer queries in an efficient and professional manner.
- Support the Contracts and Billing Controller with the implementation of continuous operational improvements and initiatives
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential skills
- Educated to GSCE standard or equivalent and highly numerate.
- Ability to analyse and interpret large volumes of data and explore the reasons for anomalies.
- Ability to format data and present in the most effective manner.
- Experience of the Sales Ledger and credit control function.
- IT literate and able to use a range of different accounting and database systems and an Intermediate to Advanced user of Excel.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial colleagues and managers.
- Good organisational skills, with the ability to adhere to strict deadlines and prioritise appropriately.
- Experience dealing with Historical allocation issues
- Proactive and self-motivated, with examples of adding value as both an individual contributor and an active team member.
- Resilient and tenacious, with particular attention to detail.
Desirable Skills
- Experience of using MS Dynamics 365.
- Experience of improving finance processes.
