Overview
We’re a friendly, family run business looking for an organized and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our small but dedicated team.
This is a hands on role where you’ll be involved in a wide range of accounting and administrative tasks. You’ll be supporting and working closely with our team it ensure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.
You will be responsible for managing financial records, dealing with suppliers and assisting with processing and managing payroll and VAT submissions.
This role is ideal for someone with at least 2 years of experience in an accounts environment who is keen to take ownership of their work.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with day to day bookkeeping and financial record keeping
- Processing supplier and customer invoices
- Accounts and bank reconciliations
- Assisting with VAT returns and ensuring compliance with HMRC deadlines.
- Supporting payroll processing - experience is helpful but not essential (training would be provided).
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records using Accounting Software (e.g Sage)
- Managing general office administration and supporting the wider business operations as needed.
- Assisting with Year End tasks and basic management reporting.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies
About you
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounts or finance related role
- Experience using Sage or similar accounting software (training available)
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Experience with Payroll processes would be advantageous
- Familiarity with VAT procedures and basic financial practices.
- Self-motivated and a strong sense of initiative and the ability to work independently
- Great attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Friendly and flexible team player with a willingness to learn
