We are currently supporting a successful business in St Asaph in their recruitment of a temporary Finance Assistant. The company has an excellent order book and is currently undergoing a period of change, though there is a possibility of a permanent role for the right candidate.
Summary
The Finance Assistant will play a key role in supporting the daily operations of the finance function, ensuring financial transactions are processed accurately and on time. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role will be responsible for maintaining financial records, supporting payroll administration, assisting with reporting requirements, and helping to ensure the smooth and efficient running of finance processes.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain broad exposure to core finance activities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with scope to develop both technical skills and practical experience.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records across sales, purchase, cash, and nominal ledgers
- Support invoice processing, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
- Assist with monthly reporting, management accounts, and KPI tracking
- Support month-end routines, including journals and reconciliations
- Assist with payroll, including overtime and shift calculations
- Liaise with pension providers on contributions and auto-enrolment queries
- Help manage cashflow tracking and ensure accurate financial records
- Provide administrative support to the Finance team as needed
- Assist with ad hoc finance projects and process improvements

- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal

Contract length: 3 months
Pay: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
