Accounts / Business Administrator
Due to the ongoing expansion of the business, we are looking for someone to join our growing team who is reliable, keen to learn and build a long-term career in finance and business administration. This new role will primarily provide accounting support, focussing on the Purchase Ledger. There will also be an element of providing general administrative support to all areas of the business
Accounting Role
- Process purchase ledger invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
- Manage the purchase ledger and ensure all supplier records are up to date.
- Reconcile supplier invoices and assist with preparing supplier payments, ensuring approvals are in place for supplier BACS payment runs.
- Support month end AP close procedures and reconciliation.
- Perform bank postings and prepare bank reconciliations.
- Support petty cash, staff expenses and company credit card reconciliations, ensuring proper records are kept.
- Maintain the accuracy of accounting systems and financial data.
- Prepare and maintain spreadsheets for reporting and analysis purposes.
- Perform ad-hoc reporting as required by management.
Business Administration Role
- Provide assistance in dealing with enquiries and responding to tenders and proposals.
- Support HR with tasks including implementing new policies, training, and inductions.
- Provide assistance with event organisation, marketing materials and conference planning.
- Provide assistance in organising maintenance of premises (where required).
- Provide assistance in organising staff events.
- General administrative and reception duties.
Skills & Experience
- A foundation of experience gained within accounting and / or business administration.
- Gained or working towards a relevant degree or other qualification such as HNC / HND, AAT qualification or equivalent.
- Experience in purchase ledger invoice processing and reconciliations, familiarity with bank postings and reconciliations.
- Strong work ethic and high level of attention to detail with the ability to work with accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- A proactive attitude and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong IT and organisational skills.
- Willingness to assist with tasks beyond job description during busy periods.
- Advanced skills in Sage 50 accounting software.
- Preferably have, or have the ability to develop, advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particular Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
The Package
You will be employed on a permanent contract, working full time (37.5 hours per week), Monday to Friday, with flexible start and finish times. You will be based at our Head Office in Birkenhead, Wirral which is easily accessible with great transport links.
- Starting salary £27,000 dependent on experience and qualifications.
