Job Summary
We’re looking for a reliable and hard-working Warehouse Operative & Relief Driver to join our team at Plumbase Truro.
This is a key role in the day-to-day running of the branch. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the warehouse operates safely, efficiently and to a high standard - from managing deliveries and picking orders to operating warehouse equipment and keeping wastage to a minimum. In addition you'll be out in a company van when required delivering plumbing and heating products to trade customers in the local area.
We’re looking for someone who knows how to move at pace, thinks ahead, and takes ownership of the space they work in.
You don’t need experience in plumbing or heating - just a full UK driving licence, a great work ethic, and a team-first attitude.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Duties (main focus):
· Receive and check deliveries from suppliers
· Pick and prepare customer orders for dispatch
· Perform heavy lifting of products
· Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts
· Keep the warehouse clean, tidy, and well-organised
· Support wider branch operations and work closely with the sales counter team
Driving and Deliveries:
· Deliver customer orders using a company van
· Drive professionally and responsibly
· Check van daily for defects
· Provide customer first, punctual service
· Load and unload the van and check items before delivery
What We’re Looking For
· A full UK driving license
· Experience in Commercial Driving or experience in a warehouse environment
· Strong customer relationship building ability
· Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
· A team player with a positive, can-do attitude
· Good attention to detail and reliable timekeeping
